About Hyland's Hounds
How it started
As a child we had a dozen dogs, several cats, rabbits, birds and the rest of the zoo in our household so I'm very experienced with a variety of animals, especially dogs. I was 16 when I got my first dog, she was a German Shepard named Kie who lived to the age of 14.
Professionally
My professional experience stretches back over 9 years, I worked as a manager in two reputable day cares during that time and got to work with breeds of all sizes, from tiny Pekinese to Great Danes. During my time working for daycares I learnt a variety of skills, medicine administration, grooming and training. I initially left my first position due to home move and to aim to work at a smaller daycare. Working at a smaller daycare meant that I got more one to one time with the dogs, yet through it all I wanted to spend even more time with our furry friends and so I decided to start my own business.
Currently
My wife and I live in Richmond with our two boys; Flynn the yorkie and Monty the pug. Our lives revolve around them and the other dogs that we look after. We love long walks and exploring nature with them in all weathers. Our favourite place to visit with them is the beach.
Certificates
I'm trained and certified in canine first aid, dog training and puppy training, and setting up classes all diamond and platinum levels through the Academy of Dog Training and Behavior, all certificates can be seen on my Instagram by clicking the icon on our home page (you'll get to see some very cute pups too!)
